first of all before you post why dont you look up the information you are posting about before you make yourself look stupid again. VTEC-e is a variety of SOHC VTEC just like i-VTEC is a different variety of DOHC VTEC.

It is worthwhile to note that the 1.5l SOHC VTEC-E used in the JDM Honda Civic ETi produces 92ps. This is in fact less than that produced by the standard 1.5l SOHC engine's 100ps which uses dual Keihin side-draft carburettors. SOHC VTEC in the D15B produces 130ps. This is 30% more than the standard SOHC implementation !

Why dont you read this before you go off spouting information like you actually know anything when you know nothing

As for the original poster no you cant put a vtec head on your motor your best bet is to probably stick a b series in your car if you want some performance. A b series shoudl fit as the first gen integras were roughly based on your car and they had the b series in them in non-vtec trim.

thats only the vtec on the HX motors...its like a 3 stage deal, and has 2 vtec selnoids

VTEC-e is different then 3 stage vtec. only 3 stage vtec has 2 solenoids and the Civic HX does not have that (I should know I used to have one). If I remember correctly all the 7th gen civics had vtec-e in them except for the civic si of course. Also vtec-e doesn't mean emissions it stands for economy, in fact the lean burn the the d series vtec-e engines do actually causes more emissions but it does significantly improve fuel efficiency

92-95 civic vx motors had vtec-e also...but as stated above, completley different than 3 stage vtec motors....

Re: (85ES3)
Your in a new world man...
It takes a lil bit to get adjusted to.
If you wanting any performance, you have the wrong car. Just drive it around and get good gas mileage and haul stuff.
If your wanting performance out of the box, your gonna have to dump some flow for a prelude or an Integra.. and even then your still high 14's, low 15's.. which is decent. I love my GS-R.
Otherwise, your gonna have to go turbo or nitrous, which I dunno if I'd do either w/your lil engine.

Your better off with swapping the whole thing out for a B series as someone mentioned above or buy another car. But the 2.2 SOHC VTEC head will not fit on your 1.8 Block.
