Engine Stalling - 1991 Accord
I have a problem with the engine occasionally stalling in my 1991 Accord 2.2L. The car is an automatic with about 150,000 miles. About once a day, the engine will stall when I stop at a stop sign. The engine always starts right up after it stalls. I replaced the main relay last year because I was having starting problems when it was hot out. The new relay fixed that problem.
Anyone have any idea what could be causing the engine to stall when the car comes to a stop in gear? Thanks for you help. - Casey

It could be the ignition switch. Give the key a wiggle whith the engine running and see if it stalls. It could be the relay again?

I had the same problem a bit ago, and it went away after I cleaned the air filter. Any check engine lights? It could be tons of things. Distributor rotor & coil, air filter, idle air control valve, fuel filter, fuel injectors, spark plugs & wires.

Thanks for the replies. I will check all of those things.
What does the idle air control valve do? When the engine dies, it seems like the idle just drops too low and the engine shuts off.
The car runs great except for it occasionally stalling.
