Default Engine hesitation

hey whats up everyone i have a question. Recently i changed my fuel filter because it was clogged up, muddy fuel came out of it when i changed it but today when i took it for a run after changing the fuel filter and my engine hesitates when accelerating as before. Can my fuel injectors be clogged up also since the filter was dirty? and if so how can i check them and clean them?

It's possible. When was the last time you changed your distributor cap, distributor rotor, and spark plugs ?

Also, year, make and model ?

If you take the injectors out you can pop them open and inspect the filters inside. I would think if the filter is clean the injector pintles are also clean. However, if the filters are clogged up I would think you should either pull some from the junkyard, get some rebuilt ones, or do a return and rebuild. But you can first see if the filters are dirty and if so, clean them with some brake cleaner and put em back in and road test.

How bad is the hesitation ? Have you tried checking for stored check engine codes ?

oh ok i get you

the hesitation happens when i accelerate. yesterday i tried going up a hill and felt like something pushing the car back but started picking up speed slowly until it went back to normal after 3k rpm

oh yeah all this started to happen after i had fresh fuel into the tank. i know its not bad fuel because i refilled it again and started to act worse

If the car is hesitating only at part throttle in the 2K rpm range, more than likely your EGR ports are clogged. Luckily on 94-97 F22B1/F22B2 engines there is a separate EGR manifold that can be removed and easily cleaned. Check the Accord FAQ at the top of the page on how to clean them.

If there was a fueling issue, the car would lean misfire and the stuttering would get worse in the higher rpms, not go away.

Disconnect the egr valve connector and run the car warmed up and when the check engine light comes on see if the car runs better. If it runs better the issue lies with the egr being too dirty.

thanks everyone for the info

i found the culprit already its actually the fuel pump. It started to make a noise like if it was overheating by the tailpipe and i turned of the car for about 30 mins and then turned it back on and the noise was gone. My friend that has been a mechanic for 20+ years helped me out. He said that the pump drops on pressure and sounds like its gonna soon give out, he is right because my car left me stranded once already and let the car sit over night and started right up again.

Sounds good, if that's not the culprit by some chance feel free to keep us posted.
