Energy Suspension Radius Arm Bushing interchangeable?
Just obtained a 99 Honda Accord EX last night.
It was given to me from a friend that left to the Marines. I'd like to keep it and pour a few thousand dollars into restoring it.
I plan to do the following in the next two months.
Replace Front Upper Control Arms with New
Replace Front Lower Control Arms with New
Replace Inner and Outer Tie Rod
Replace Front Ball Joints both Driver/Passenger side
Replace Front Shocks
Replace All 4 Engine Mounts/Transmission Mounts
Replace Radius Arm Bushing to "Crossmember"
Replace Old tires with 4 New Yokohama YK580
Replace All 4 Wheel Bearings
Get an Alignment
Replace Front and Rear Sway Bar Bushing to Energy Suspension Bushings
The Rear Suspension seems fine after examining it myself. But if worst comes to worst, I don't mind replacing the rear lateral arms, upper arm, control arm and trailing arm as well. But for now I'll leave the rear alone.
Might install a Engine Damper, researching that at the moment.
The car needs a little body work on the passenger rear quarter panel and then the whole car gets painted.
Engine is strong, no problem
Transmission shifts fine but when slowing down from 15 mph or less, there's a transmission "eek eek eek eek" noise.
Debating if I would yank the Engine and Transmission out and throw in a JDM low mileage Engine and Rebuilt the Transmission. But that would be the last thing to do after body work and paint.
I noticed Energy Suspension doesn't make a Master Kit for the 1998-2002 Honda Accord.
I would really like to stay away from OEM Rubber Radius Arm Bushings that connects to the Crossmember.
Does anyone know if the 1997 Honda Accord Radius Arm Bushings from Energy Suspension is interchangeable with the 1998-2002 Honda Accord?

Re: Energy Suspension Radius Arm Bushing interchangeable?
I don't have an answer for you - but - I was cautioned multiple times about using poly bushings for the radius arms.
Essentially, the bushings need a certain amount of give to them because they serve as a compliance bushing (absorbing fore-aft impact energy). The poly bushings are so stiff that they make the ride harsh.
Why do you want to stay away from rubber bushings?

Re: Energy Suspension Radius Arm Bushing interchangeable?
I'd had bad experiences with rubber bushings before. I no longer own any Honda (10 years ago I did) but now since I'm given this 99 Honda Accord, I just remembered back that they always goes out. Since 10 years have passed for me, was hoping some company makes replacement stiffer/strong bushings for them rather than rubber bushings from Honda Dealership.
I'm actually heading out to Honda Dealership to gather some OEM parts.
Radius Arm Bushing/Strut Rod Bushing
Part # 51281-S84-A01
If no one makes it, I'll have to stick to OEM Rubber Bushing.

Re: Energy Suspension Radius Arm Bushing interchangeable?
The Beck/Arnley radius rod bushings for my 93 Accord were probably OEM - they were made in Japan, and looked identical to the originals. FYI
