the mounting location etc is all the same it is just that mount that is different. you have to know if you have a three bolt or 4 bolt. you cannot interchange them.

there is no mount for the head it connects to the block and transmission in the rear. you need to look at the current mount to see if it is a 3 bolt or 4. then get the correct one. you are making this a lot harder than it actually is. pick up a haynes or chilton manual

the ex is supposedly some fluid controlled bullshit where the others are just a standard motor mount.

Like he said get the one that fits. I will tell you the first one is air controlled. It gets stiffer at a certain rpm. I have it in my automatic 93 Lx. It has a vacuum line running to it. I can tell you my car vibrates like a bich when its at idles.

Re: Difference between the EX and LX 5spd rear motor mount
okay, im not sure what people are not understanding. I have a stock f22b2 that came in the car thats an LX with the original motor mount. I am swapping my head soon to a b1 head, which is from the EX as we know, and i have the motor mount for the EX. My car is 5 spd, all i am asking is why they are different. One has a v notch in it and the other does not. Just wondering why they are so different. Not sure why its so hard to get? maybe im not explaining it well enough, or there isn't a difference i'd notice. Are the through bolt holes in the same location?

Re: Difference between the EX and LX 5spd rear motor mount
It shouldn't matter which mount you use because I have a 94 EX that was AT, and when I converted to 5speed I used a DX rear motor mount and It fit perfectly fine and I had no problems. I believe only AT rear mounts are air controlled. But If your still un sure then just get the mount for your car

Re: Difference between the EX and LX 5spd rear motor mount
if you have an LX then you need an LX mount, you swapping heads has nothing to do with what mounts you need. you do not need an EX mount. and there is a big difference in the 2. the ex sits higher and is bigger. the lx sits lower and uses 3 bolts to hold it down.

The metal bracket on the engine that connects to the mounts are different also. If you use a big 4 bolt EX mount, you need the EX bracket. If you use the LX/DX mount, you need the LX/DX bracket.

plus if your swapping heads then why would you even need to switch the mounts?!?! what ever mount your using now will be fine.

Re: Difference between the EX and LX 5spd rear motor mount
well i was going to swap them because the other 3 are new from my motor swap but i ended up getting the EX one somehow i guess. Thats why i was confused, i think i was shipped the wrong set. I will get the LX one for when i swap my head, i'll have more room in there to get to the rear and change it to a new one too.
Thanks for clearing it up
