Default 96 accord cyl 1 miss, cant figure it out.

f22b1 only code it throws is cyl 1 miss. has brand new cap rotor and wires, ngk's about 4 months old.swapped injector and plug from #1 to #3 and still same thing, cyl 1 miss. tried another ecu today and still the same problem. it only misses when under a load, going up a hill even a small one at light throttle and it starts to sound like a subaru. any ideas?

Probably because you haven't cleaned the EGR port"s" yet.

Fortunately on your car it's easy to clean out the ports. You need to research what the egr system does to understand why it's making it miss.

the only thing i dont understand with this egr assumption is why would it effect only one cylinder and the same one 100% of the time.

Because that cylinder "might" be the only one left with an open port and too much EGR gas is flowing through it. The EGR system comes online between 1500-2000 RPM BTW.

Should it be the egr ports don't be tempted to bypass the system, unless you love spark knock.

just cleaned it, 3 where completely clogged and one was about halfway clogged, which was cylinder 1. so we'll see in the morning what the verdict is.
