I was screwing around doing something I had no buisness doing and stuck the grounding wire to the hot wire on the altenator sparks flew. the car wouldnt start checked the fuse box the main fuse was blown no other fuses were effected. replaced the battery main fuse nothing comes on when I turn the key would the altenator cylanoid be the problem or are things way worse?

When you do something like that, there's not telling what else has shorted out. Usually only the fuse connected to that circuit will blow, but sometimes multiple fuses blow. I'd suggest checking all your fuses. Also check for any burnt wires.

There is also a 50amp ignition fuse (under-hood box) which should be checked as well as a 7.5amp Starter Signal fuse (in compartment fuse box).

I looked all over for a fuse bux in the interior of the car couldnt find one when I replaced the fuse for the I got a slight beat(starting sound then nothing)lasted a fraction of a second It doestn look like the wires are burnt then again they are all covered in a plasic tube. I lost one of the screws to the fuse box so I borrowed one from the ignition fuse i figure I will go to tomarrow and look for some more screws. nothing comes on when I turn the key not a single light. I was thinking cylenoid but would that do all that? I have no idea what im doing here should I replace the altenator? what do you mean by tapping the cylanoid?

Either he's watching too much Battlestar Galactica (Cylons et al), or he's speaking of the Starter Solenoid.
During this no-start condition, does the vehicle have power to other systems; like lights, ect?

I know this may sound like a silly question, but... Did you put in a fuse with the same amp rating as the original? I only asked b/c you said it had power for just a second, and then went dead again... Have you checked that fuse again?

Yeh, recheck your fuses. I'm trying to determine IF and WHERE Honda may have put a fusable link into the wiring harness. If it worked for a very short time b4 wigging out again, You've got a direct short somewhere, possibly along the length of that wire that started it all.

I don't think any fuses are blown because when u touch the ground wire to a hot wire, electricity shorts out and will not go thru the fuses. It will go straight to ground. I suggest tracing the ground and hot wires that were shorted for burned wires. Trace your alt. hot wire and check it!
