2002 honda accord V6 making me Stress out
When I bought my car it was great it was fast and it accelerated pretty fast. Know the RPMS Jump around all crazy. Like when I accelerate on to the freeway it has no more power. It jumps form 1,2,3,4,000 RPM's (Sometimes it feels like the car is stupid)
the RPM'S drop to 1 or 2 and the car stalls. But there are day's the car is like it's old self.I think it's time to change my spark plugs. I thought it had 100,000 miles spark plugs.
It is a 2002 Honda Accord
3.0 V6
It has 68,000 miles
Got it at a Honda Dealer it was used.
But It was Honda Certified If that really means anything.
It still has warranty till 100,000 Should I just take it in to have it checKed by the dealer.

go to a dealershp and have them check the tranny. the 6th gen, 98-02 v6 models have a big bigg biigggg problem with transmissions. some of my friends are on their 4th or 5th tranny in 3 or 4 yrs

Re: 2002 honda accord V6 making me Stress out (wj4)
My mom's 98 started doing that just a week ago, the tranny is shot, and the car has 120,000 miles on it and Honda is Good Willing the transmission, rebuilt and with a 1 year unlimited mileage warranty for 1,700. Dealer said without Honda doing the good will thing it would have cost 4,300 to have a rebuilt tranny installed at the dealer. At least Honda is taking some of the blame.
But if your under 100K the dealer should fix it for free anyhow, don't let them try and charge you a deductible if you have one. should be coverd under a transmission extended warranty. You can go to https://www.ahm-ownerlink.com/login.asp and put in your vin and see if your car is covered by the extended warranty.

Re: 2002 honda accord V6 making me Stress out (briq4)
OH and just a side note, the 98 Accord v-6's did NOT have a transmission extended warranty, I guess we just lucked out with our dealer getting a little good will from Honda.

That does sound like a transmission problem and unfortunately briq is correct. The 98 cars do not have an extended warranty but if you are still in the warranty from when you bought the car then I would take it to the dealer and make them put a new one in.

opps i forgot to mention that the extended warranty of the tranny failure only applies to the 01-02 models i believe. the updated 6th gens.
