Have you ruled out bad tires?

Inner CV joints have slung out all the grease and worn divots in the joint housing, happens all the time on those 80 models

well when you raise the car it changes the position of the bearings in the inner CV joint.
When they "reman" the CV joints they plunge out the housing to put in an oversized bearing. That removes the case hardening, leaving a softer steel than the hardened bearing.

Get underneath & grab an axle. Try to move it every which way. It shouldn't really be loose. Maybe some axial motion, I'm not sure how much is acceptable. But I sure wouldn't want to see much radial motion.

But I'm trying to understand it... Are you talking about the inner driver? So they put on a tripod with oversized bearings?

Well you have to take into consideration as to whether or not the axles are OEM remans or napa/autozone knock offs.. I've seen many aftermarket axles that are the wrong length, either too short or too long..
