Blown timine belt, 92 honda accord
hey whats up guys. I have a 92 honda accord with the SOHC 2.2L engine. While I was driving down the road getting ready to stop i hear a humming noise and then the car shut off. So when we looked at it at the shop the timing belt snapped, the timing belt was only 5months old. Now alot of older honda techs were telling me that I could probally get away with just replacing the timing belt with the chance of a blown head. Now other techs are telling me that if I'm lucky i bent some valves but most likley blew the motor. I did try cranking it over but like i said it only turns from the bottem crank. Now sunday during the day they wanna put a new timing belt on and see how that goes. Is there anything i need to know about or can anyone tell me if it is an interference motor and some ways to check whats going on without ripping off the head? Now can someone please tell me what the hell is true and whats not.
.....By the way I did not hear any knocking or feel any vibrations like alot of people said i would have heard/felt and also the car trys to crank over from the bottem crank...

it is an interference motor. best scenario... your valves are bent and it only costs you the amount the car is worth to fix it.
do search... one of the masters here has a great guide on replacing the timing belt. you only need a 10 & 19mm wrench, 10 14 17 & 19mm sockets, and about 3 hours to diy.
