Battery on car appears almost ....how do you know if its battery or bad alternator?
When the push the button to my clock on my 95 accord the light appears to be very dim. Additionally this is quite noticable because it takes a little longer than usual to start up the car. How do you know if it has to do the with the battery and not the alternator. Couldnt it be possbile that the alternator isnt charging the battery enough or working correctly? The only reason why I say this is because I recently had an engine swap. The engine came with the alternator but the car has only 70,000 miles. What do you guys think?

take it to autozone and let them test your battery..the will put a load on it and give you a quick answer..if battery is good..get a voltmeter and test the voltage coming out of your alternator (autozone can also do this for you), sears also does it but i don't know if they do it for free

I had the same problem track auto checked the battery and alternator said both are fine.
most of them I talk to said alternator, guess what.
I changed the alternator anyway the problem solved.

the alternator has nothing to do with the car starting. if lights are dim, or car tries to start and the starter keeps clicking, it's either the battery, or grinded teeth on the starter. check to see if battery terminals are clean and wires are tight. the alternator powers your car to keep it running. if it was the alternator your car would start then die. hope this helps.
