Default 1995 Accord 2 door Coupe fuel pump problems

This has been the craziest problem. Went to crank it one day and it wouldn't. Thought for sure it was fuel pump, well it wasn't. After countless hours of dropping fuel tank again and checking wiring harnesses, replacing main relay, kicking tires, throwing rocks, I have come to conclusion this must be the ECM. The car is manual shift. After putting 12 volts directly to the fuel pump, it will come on and run and the car will crank. If it sits for more than an hour, forget it, fuel pump will not come on until I do something stupid like run power straight to it. I would much appreciate any ideas yall could share with me. THANKS..

Have you checked the 15A ECU fuse in the under hood fuse/relay box and the No. 2 15A fuel pump fuse in the under dash fuse/relay box?

The main relay delivers the 12v power source to the fuel pump. You should measure the voltage coming from the main relay to the fuel pump. if the voltage is not there. You then need to troubleshoot the main relay. The ECU does not control the main relay. The main relay supplies the ECU with power as well as the fuel pump and fuel injector circuits.

Was the main relay that you installed new or used? You should test the main relay and also check for voltage to the main relay from the battery, ignition and the starter switch. If one of those signals is not making it to the relay it will not power the fuel pump.

Thanks for the reply. I have checked the fuses in both locations. I did plug in a used relay to try out but it was from an earlier Honda Prelude. The relay plugged in with no problem. I didn't compare part numbers so maybe that relay is different from mine? I will try and locate the proper relay and change that before I try the ECU. Thanks
