Default K&N Filter?

Hello I was wondering should I replace my OEM air filter to the K&N air filter w/o the cold air intake stuff just a replacement?
Are there any difference or suggestions out there?

I liked my K&N stock replacement filter. I say it's worth it. But look around for good prices.

Your friend fails at the internet.

Personally not worth it.

But a CAI or SRI from like AEM and be done, or get a ghetto ebay one and toss a K&N filter

It's worth it if you don't feel like getting an aftermarket intake. and still wants to raise some MPGs... stock replacement is good for you. Plus you don't have to waste $$$ on replacement filters.

THE MAF thing is a big hoax. K&N tested this and there was no sign of K&N oil on the MAF. It was covered in silicone from the MAF sensor seal. 90-02 Accords do not have a MAF sensor anyways.

If u want to do it Muffinman's way... The ebay option is great. I got my AEM CAI for my 96 Accord for about $55. Used, but it's in pretty goood condition.

The MAS can be affected if your ECU doesnt pick up the changes and componsate for the gained air flow. That happened to my car, but all i did was take out the main ECU fuse for 30 seconds and put it back in.
This should reset everything and the ECU you catch up and recognize the difference.

i was thinking the same thing. since when have accords used a MAF. second, it will be more effective getting a k&n filter with a cheap ebay tube instead of a 200 intake that basically will be the same as the cheap stuff. CAI's are iffy. depends on your climate. if you get alot of rain/flooding, skip the CAI and do short ram.

it uses a MAP sensor. i also read about the MAF problem with K&N filters, overall from what i have read i believe it to be false, and a easy excuse for the dealership to point fingers. but who knows.

as far as the drop-in filter, i say its worth it definately. but the ebay pipe + K&N cone filter is another option too. really depends on what you want out of it.

Well worth the buy. The only thing you have to do is buy a recharge kit instead of another filter which rules.
