Default Should i get motor mounts from a dealer or a auto parts store

Hey guys I have a 98 honda accord ex and i need to replace 2 motor mounts. The driver side mount and the mount in the back. Should i get the mounts from a dealer which is about 400 for both mounts or should i get mounts from autozone or any regular auto parts store...thanks again

I decided to go with OEM for mine.. the harder anything is to replace, the more it's worth spending for a better part, in my opinion. If you look around you'll probably find people answering both ways for different reasons. You have to decide if getting a part that's made by the people that built the car, probably better made, more exactly engineered, probably last longer is worth the cost - to you.

Keep in mind you can often order parts online cheaper than you can get them in person*, at least new. I got mine from majestic honda, there's a couple other places that I've heard are good too but I don't remember the names offhand. If you can wait a week or so it's a good option.

*from the same maker, I mean

I would say it depends on exactly how bad they are, but i dnt think I would say "dangerous"...maybe "unadvisable". You can do further damage to your car (axles and such) so if it is absolutely necessary, make sure you take it very easy.
Also...I have personally had bad experiences with aftermarket mounts. I have a 92 with an aftermarket vacuum controlled rear mount. It has alot of vibration. Although I heard you can get away with aftermarket (except for rear) I will not buy anything but OEM from now on.

Oh, and I agree with dwllama...i also recommend majestic honda. Shipping can be slow but noooo stealerships for meeee
