Accord 97 ex stalls while driving
I have Accord 97 EX (4-cyl VTEC) that stalls while driving. It is an intermittent failure that makes it really hard to troubleshoot. I had the car dropped at in-laws mechanic a few months ago to get it fixed. Instead I got a car with old battery and non working alternator. My relatives had those parts replaced but the original issue is there. I was bringing the car home and it stalled like 6 times in the raw, I had to call the tow truck.
What I've read so far that it could be Main fuel relay, Fuel pump, ICM (igniter), possibly ignition coil, ignition switch (electrical part). Also this time around I've got engine check error that was 0108 that is pointing to MAP sensor. Normally no engine check error comes up when the car stalls.
I've tried wiggling the key when the car runs and I cannot reproduce the problem. Not sure if I should eliminate the switch though. I also wiggled the MAP sensor connector and had it disconnected but the engine keeps on running. It seems like MAP sensor error is a side affect of something else happening.
I had ICM replaced with an aftermarket part (I paid ~$100) about 5 years ago. At that time my wife was driving it home when the engine stalled. At that time it was the hard failure as the engine didn't start at all.
Any suggestions as to what it might be? I plan on checking the ignition coil with DMM and have the ICM checked at the store. I would appreciate any guidance in troubleshooting this intermittent problem.
is the video someone posted on youtube with similar symptom.

Re: Accord 97 ex stalls while driving
Swapping the coil and ICM with used distributor I bought from a junk yard seem to fix the problem (in case someone comes across the same issue). I have a feeling it is an aftermarket ICM that was the root cause of failure. Coil resistance measured exactly the same as on the one I had.
