99 ACCORD sedan question mirror question
The US and JAPAN built accords have different plugs for the side mirrors. a friend of mines needs to replace his cuz it fell off and broke. can you just take the plug off the US one and wire it to the JAPAN one? Hes got a hookup on the mirror but its a japan built car and his is a US built car. if anyone know please let me know thanks!

Are you sure they're different? I have a '99 LX sedan and have replaced both side mirrors over the years, can't remember being asked whether my car was made in Japan or the US. (it was made in Japan, for what it's worth)

Re: 99 ACCORD sedan question mirror question (Heat)
the usdm 6th gen doesn't exist in japan, it was built outside of japan and sent thought out the world(canada, taiwan, hong kong, etc)
the bottom line is, the real real jdm mirror(japanese made for japanese accord: sir, sirt, etc)will not fit

i still have no idea what the hell youre talking about.
Does it fold or heat electronically or something, what's the difference between the one you have and the one you want to put on?

I get it. I thought it was some dumb assed JDM part.
Anywho, that should work. Youll just have to know which wire is which, you can do that by connecting them through trial and error or just use a shop manual.
Make sure to use good connectors and heat shrink em so they're stable

For what it's worth, make sure his car has the exact same color as your car (same code). The mirrors come pre-painted.
The MSRP for a new mirror is ~ $195, you can save 20% or 25% online from different e*tailers (basically a mechanic's discount). If he doesn't have the exact same color or isn't that much less than $150 or $160, then just buy online and get the right part / right color.
