98 Accord with Engine light code P1456
My car got the engine light code P1456. It has been cleared for 3
times but it still come back on.
I bought a new gas cap from deler, but it still on. The local shop checked
about this code for me, he said there is not thing wrong with any part, but
gas tank he was not be able to check. He recommed me to go to Honda, so I
went. Honda just said he ran the test about vapor in gas tank, there is only
leak they could fine is gas cap. They cleared the light for me againn, but 6
days after that it was back ON!! I called the dealer they said they have on
idea, there is only one way, checking everything about this code following a
chart. But, they dont know how long will it be, and how much for the service.
I'm worry about this, please help me. Will this problem affect my
engine or anything???

No worries. I get that all the time. I checked it online before and it has to do with the EVAP canister. Something about the gasoline fumes. I dont' remember exactly what. Just google p1456 and it'll pop up.
As far as problems with your engine you should be fine. Even my gas mileage is fine. Hope that helps. If you find a permanet solution. Let me know.

OEM Gas Cap, 2 Way Valve (may be filled with gas), Evap Bypass Solenoid, Vent Shut Off Valve & its Solenoid.
Find where each is located, price all parts OEM, if they are not too expensive and if you can do it yourself then start changing parts one at a time in the order that I posted them above unless you are happy to pay Honda to diagnose and do the work for you, dont pay labor for parts they change that dont keep the light off for a week, if you ask them for a garantee, they are going to change everthing listed above, if you can, do them one at a time. It sounds like there is no rust hole in the tank and you do not smell fumes. Turn the gas cap until it clicks three times (or more) after you refuel.
It could be a hole in a hose or a cracked canister (evap), did they smoke test the entire system.
