Default 95 accord flood damage, now wont start help!

Car was parked on a street that got flooded, never was started or driven in the water but the water came did come into the car and get the ecu wet, I think that's it tho everything else was dry. I took out the ecu and dried it out but the car still wont start, it just cranks over.

Anyone got any idea?

Thanks in advance

if you have a buddy with an ECM you can swap out with, try that. that will tell you if yours is bad. if it got wet, i would replace it anyway. You can probably find a used one pretty cheap. also check ebay if you have no luck locally.

make sure you have clean, dry connections on the harness when you plug it into the new ECM. WD-40 works well to drive out moisture in the connectors. you can spray the terminals with it and clean with a toothbrush. then blow them out with low pressure air. compressed gas electronic duster in a can works great. you may also want to spray on some contact cleaner once you're done to get the wd-40 out if you feel like there's too much left. also check out your fuse panel on the driver's side that is down by the kick panel and anything that is below where the water level was.

thanks a lot, is it worth it for me to try replacing just the ecu or could it be a bunch of other things?

well, look around the floor for anything else before you plug in the ECU. you wouldn't want to fry the new one. It's probably just the ECU, but double check that nothing else is still wet.
