95 accord ex vtec oil leak

95 accord ex vtec oil leak

Leaking at back left hand corner of valve cover. Also leaking by the alternator. Leaking about a half a quart a week.

Probably valve cover gasket is worn. Clean with simple green and hose off, go for a drive, look for fresh leaks.

If you do replace the VTEC gasket, get both of them. One has a screen, theyre about $3 each. Remove valve cover gasket, you probably just need to re-rtv the edges where the gasket goes over the cam shaft.

make sure the leak is not coming from the distributor O ring
