Just picked up this car, factory speakers are blown and I have a pair of Eclipses I want to install. The panel is a bit more hidden than my Civics. Does anyone have instructions on how to remove the door paneling safely? I dont want to just start pulling cause I'm not sure if there are tabs or screws holding it on.

I've removed my drivers rear panel on my 96EX before and it wasn't anything unexpected. You've got the normal screws in the armrest and handle. Then the window crank if you got one. After that start at the bottom and pull gently. The clips are not right at the edges of the panel, they're tucked up and around the curviture of the door. In my case I bent a piece of scrap metal and made myself a tool but if you're gentle and can feel out the approximate location of them you should be able to pull the panel off. They take some pressure so don't be too afraid to force it, a snapping or jerking motion works best. The top window seal of couse is tucked down into the door and the corner trim piece is a pain. I don't believe you can remove the corner trim at least my manual didn't say anything about it. Again this is on a 4 door but all doors are pretty much the same. Watch out for wires and stuff as well, I think there are plugs you can remove as well.

Right on. AFter a bit of looking I found a manual online. There are 10 Clips around the bottom of the door.

The advice of not having to totally remove it, just pop a few clips might work. I'm gonna try that.

just an FYI Honda-tech has had some legal trouble with ppl sharing Helms manuals and links online so be forwarned...I'd like to keep them up as long as possible
