93 Honda Accord - Horn Won't shut off
Hi all, I've got a bit of a problem with my car (93 Accord EX) and I am unaware why my horn won't shut off. Just a few nights ago I got a call from the police saying that my horn had been going off for about 30 minutes straight. I went down to check if I could turn it off by putting the key in, unlocking, starting, the whole shebang. None of that worked so I opted to just take off the negative terminal and let it sit for a few days. I'll be going down to check it today, but I need a few bits of information first.
If I can't get it to shut off by turning the key in the opposite direction in the ignition, would you guys recommend pulling the fuse for the horn or should I bring the horn relay inside and let it warm up. It's cold as crap outside and this isn't exactly the time I want to be working on my car, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
Help me out with this situation please :D. I've gotta drive home from college tomorrow, hah.

remove the fuse for now, you probably have a short or a stuck relay, but I would find it odd to be a stuck relay since it started on it's own without actuating.

Re: 93 Honda Accord - Horn Won't shut off (Accord2k-Hybrid)
Thanks, I'll make sure to take care of that later. Temperature out here has been crazy for a while (on average ~10 degrees or less with a windchill in the neg 10s. When I turned the car on last time, the horn didn't stop--it just kept going. I found it funny that when I pressed the horn button down it produced another tone in addition to the one that was already occuring. I'm not sure if that's of any help to you guys, but every little bit of diagnosis is helpful.

do you mean pushing the horn causes the tone to change or you can specificly hear 2 different noises going at the same time?

the fuse for the horns is underhood #25 20amp.
There are actually 2 horns on the car high and low tones;
So when you push the horn button you might be turning on the second horn.
I think that one of the wires to the horn is grounding 'somewhere', my best guess.
Try unplugging each horn in turn to see if only one of them is sounding.
The other thing you could do is unplug the relay and plug it back in to feel if it clicks. if it does click there is a problem in the 'control' part of the circuit.[horn switch side of the wiring]
If no click of the relay,and the horn still sounds you need to go point to point wire checking of the Blue/red wire from the offending horn.

I took the fuse out and put it back in and voila! We're good now on that. I was looking on the cover for the fuse box and it didn't just say horn, it said stop horn. Is this something specific to the 93EX?
BTW, thanks for the help. I'll be creating some more topics with questions in just a bit.
