91 Accord Reliability

91 Accord Reliability
I'm considering purchasing a manual trans 91 Accord EX with just over 200,000 miles on it. I'm wanting a car that will be fairly reliable and get good gas mileage. I'm new to Hondas...Don't plan on modifying the car at all, just wondering how reliable it will be and how many more miles I can get out of it if I do regular maintenance.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Does it smoke blue out the pipe at idle or cruising? If its not knocking and doesnt have any major mechanical issues you should get another 100k out of it easily, but you have to keep up with repairs, the timing belt etc. To put a time frame on a honda is impossible, they can go as long as you take car of them

Check for worn bushings, new sway bar/endlink bushings will keep the car level, and tire wear to a minimum.
Two things I would change, front lower balljoints and wheel bearings if they have not been changed within the past 100K miles.
Older lower BJs have been known to break, and the wheel bearings are actually kind of hard to tell when they go bad on these cars. Unlike other cars they do not make noise. You will have to look at your tire wear. Usually inside tread blocks will be scalloped every other one. with the tires properly inflated.

It uses about a quart of oil every 1000 miles or so. I'm planning on changing the timing belt right away if I do buy it, and will replace worn parts in the suspension. Thank you for the advice I'd definitely be happy to get 50-100k more out of it!!

Several places for the engine to leak oil from.
