Default 90 accord?

I'm looking at this 90 accord, I dont know that much about the B20 though. Is it worth getting...if I'm doing mods? How turbo friendly is it? How's the aftermarket? I know its a fairly light car (2600 or something if I remember correctly) but is it a good car to mod overall? Any input would help.
Thanks.

no b20 for a 4th gen. You want an H22.

first of all, the engine that should be in that accord is an f22 series. the b20 and b21 are in a prelude. big difference. and the 90 accord weighs over 3000 pounds. are you sure you are looking at an accord? if you really are looking at an accord, the only true power you will get out of that motor is by doing some form of forced injection or getting the h22a swap. if you are trying to do 1/4 mile drag or things like that. if you are just looking for moderate performance out of the engine, then you can do the bolt-ons and suspension and you should be happy with it.

A '90 DX coupe tips the scales at 2738, but that's as low as it goes (before stripping parts of course).

crxplus, I think only the most fully loaded 4G and 5G auto sedans got over 3000 lbs. I think the manual EX sedans still sneaked in under 3K lbs and coupes are usually only 50 lbs lighter.
I see you have a 3G Prelude B series in your 4G, was that a pretty straitforward swap?

I was looking at the prelude specs, lol. I've been looking for a 4th gen lude for some time now, but theres not one around here. I was wondering why the weight seemed so low...oh well. So I guess there's no hope in an accord without a swap..I think I'll just stick with the lude..this one was old anyway. Thanks for the help though..you guys were pretty quick.

Well, that's not really true. Accords can be fast cars with the F22- you just have to mod it right and remove a lot of excess weight from the car. Accords actually will make great track cars. They have a pretty sturdy chasis and there are tons of parts available. It's why you used to see so many 5th gen touring cars, in everything from the BTCC, the U.S.'s NATCC, and even in japan's touring car series'.

4doorH22 - it was a nightmare and is still in the final stages of finishing. the motor is in and runs, but i haven't finished wiring in the rest of the car yet. that is what is taking some time. when i get it done, i will post some pics. i should be done in the next week or so. the only reason i tackled this was because i had that motor sitting around and nothing to put it into. i didn't get my prelude until well after the project started.

Are u doing this all on your own? What i mean by that is, did you find instruction on how to do this? Or are you just improvising along the way?

On the scale at englishtown, my 92 coupe weighed in at about 3000 lbs even without me in it. Dunno how accurate their scale is, tho.

hondasport - yes and no. my father is a mechanic and has his own garage. i have done pretty much all the work myself with using any guides from anyone or any books or things like that. my father has helped me when i got stuck trying to get things to fit the way we wanted them to. the only thing that has been a real pain in the butt is the wiring. putting the engine in and making mounts for it wasn't really difficult. we just had to do some minor adjustments. i have removed all the accord wiring and replaced it with the prelude si wiring harness. the first harness i used i think was all messed up. things weren't working right. so, i got another parts car and tore out the harness to that one and replaced the harness again. this time everything is working correctly so far. it is just taking a long time to get the wiring correct.

Uh, my specification book says 90 LX Accord is 3,815 lb (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating). Dont know where you guys are getting your numbers. does the gross include passengers?
My Helms too. I can only guess the GVW also includes the maximum payload, hence "gross."
