Default 82 Accord EK1 Head Bolt Torque

I am doing a rebuild of the cylinder head on my 82 Accord, the head gasket developed a leak from the previous owner (over heat) and the #2 cylinder had a coolant leak. It definately needs a rebuild, with new valve seals, but my question is on torque.

After a bit of searching, I came across a final torque setting of 49 ft lbs, torquing all bolts in pattern to 15 ft lbs, then go in 5 lb increments in the same pattern order until reaching 49 ft lbs.
Does this sound correct? I don't have a shop manual (local parts stores don't go back that far) and I really don't need one otherwise. 49 ft lbs sounds awfully low, but hey, it's a 4 cylinder.

Thanks in advance!

I don't have access to an 82 service manual, but I would say it does make sense.
