2002 Accord suddenly sluggish on acceleration
I have always had great acceleration on my accord, but in the last few weeks it has grown progressively sluggish. Now, it's almost like crawling. The engine is not running hot, it just doesn't pick up. The engine revs to 4+ and still just crawls. Once I get to a cruising speed I'm ok, but anytime I want to accelerate I get nothing. ANY suggestions welcome. I live in the mid-west and there is lots of road construction going on, so stopping and starting is the norm this summer and it's very frustrating to step on the gas and get nothing.

I currently have the exact same problem on mine. I've had everything diagnosed and i'm removing the CAT this week to check if its clogged. As its the last thing in the honda manual to check or second last thing.
Here is my thread https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-accord-1990-2002-2/f23a1-running-like-crap-lost-power-no-acceleration-2610975/ Lots of tips and suggestions
Mine doest crawl past 5K though.
I'm almost 100% sure its the cat. As so are many others.
I wanted to post this earlier but couldnt' find it here it is

Re: 2002 Accord suddenly sluggish on acceleration
Thank you, I will check the air filter at break. I never thought of that, even though I am driving through clouds of dust two or three times a day. I'll check it out and let you know.

Re: 2002 Accord suddenly sluggish on acceleration
Air filter was black as midnight, changed it out at lunch time, but didn't really help the problem. Situation got progressively worse as I headed home last night and I finally had no power at all. Car ended up on the side of the highway and I hiked to my daughter's day camp. I called a wrecker and my favorite trusted mechanic shop. This morning I find out it's the clutch. I should have suspected, but I didn't. 1k to repair, should be done tomorrow. At least I know to change my air filter every other oil change. Thanks guys. I also know where to come for answers next time something happens.
