1999 Honda Accord Acceleration Loss
1999, V6 Honda Accord. ~135k miles.
For a while now, the transmission has been rough in shifting between first and second gear, but I can live with that for a while yet.
Recently, though, I've started to experience a new problem: once I've been driving for about 20 minutes or so, I'll start to experience "acceleration loss". The best way I can describe it is that it's like the car stops registering that I'm pressing the gas pedal: rpms and speed drop as the car goes from being powered to just coasting. Sometimes i can take my foot all the way off the gas pedal, and then press it back in, and it'll pick up again (this has happened both in stop and go traffic conditions at low speeds, and at highway speeds). Other times (only at stop and go traffic conditions at low speeds), that doesn't help, and the car will totally disregard my pressing of the gas pedal, except for half a second or so at a time when all of a sudden the car will 'notice' that I've got the pedal down to wherever I'm pressing it, the rpms (and the whole car) will jump forward in response to the gas pedal input, but then a half second later, the car is back to coasting again.
So far, letting the car sit, off, for a while makes the problem go away, only to reappear later, randomly.
I can't recreate the issue at will (it happens for about 5-10% of the drives I take that are roughly 20mins or longer), so I can't demonstrate it to my mechanic. Do you all have any thoughts?

Have you checked for any stored codes? Just because a CEL is not lit, does not mean there is not a stored, impending, or active problem.
Does it matter how much fuel is in the tank?
Have you tested fuel pressure?

Re: 1999 Honda Accord Acceleration Loss
I have not checked for stored codes. I didn't see a CEL, so I didn't think to check for stored codes.
I haven't seen any correlation to how much gas is in the tank (it certainly happens with a little more than a half a tank of gas, which is how much I had the last time it popped up).
I don't know how to test fuel pressure. Is there an easy way?
