new to the forum, so what's up everybody.

Just recently the a/c has been giving me some problems on my 99 accord EX. When the a/c is switched on, after a few seconds, or even a few minutes the a/c will kick off. The shutting down of the a/c, and coming back on occurs quite often. The fan still blows air when the a/c is kicked off, but it's not cold air. Also, the lights on the control unit will shut down when kicked off.

I can hear the a/c engaging when the activated, and I can see both fans turning when the a/c is turned on, but when the a/c goes down both fans stop. I have checked the fuses, loose connections, and come up with nothing. Could the problem be a bad control unit behind the dash?

any help is appreciated.

get a gauge and make sure its not overfilled if it is the pressure will be too much and it will cause it to half work.. if you have just randomly decided to put more coolant into it ... fail... old coolant sometimes has to be removed or flushed ... depending on where you live you have to have a professional drain it due to pollution an what not

What are the pressures? Refrigeration is all about pressures. What are the static and dynamic pressures? More information is always better than less.

I haven't check the pressures, so I'll take it some place and have it checked.

The weird thing is, I drove the car around last evening and the a/c worked great, no problems. So this problem comes and goes.
