the car has 155,000 miles on it. I bought it last December so I don't know if the previous owner did the recall or not.

well either way you are out of luck. You can look in the 6th gen faq and in there i provided some links to accord TSBs and one of them deals with the EGR recall. you can do it yourself if you are a halfway compentent mechanic.
in a nut shell:
remove intake
enlarge egr passage on upper intake
insert tube
reassemble with new EGR valve
two ways to find if out if recall was done
take to your local honda dealer and have them run vin
sign up for owner link and enter in car information

Re: (MooGoCow3)
I called the stealer and they said that my car wasn't covered on the recall because my mileage was too high, the egr kit is $97.00 and they don't sell the special tool that you need to drill out the egr port. My question is that if I just clean the egr port and put it back together do you think it will be ok. the stealer wants $198.00 for labor + $97.00 for the part. I consider myself a decent shade tree mechanic but I don't have that special drilling tool.

well I took off the intake and cleaned out the egr port, it was almost completly plugged, I cleaned the throtle body and changed the valve cover gaskets and it's a good thing too because the old gaskets were already dry rotting, I got everything back together and drove the car so far the cel has not lit up yet I guess we shall see. by the way WTF is the deal with the valve cover bolts, the gasket set came with the gaskets for the bolts but you can't slide the old gaskets off the bolts because they have a lip to hold them in place. I had to grind off the freaking lips off of all 10 bolts inorder to get the new bolt gaskets in kind of dumb if you ask me.
