1994 Honda Accord LX with non-working dash and tail lamp lights
Hi. My girlfriend owns a 1994 Honda Accord LX with non-working dash and tail lamp lights. I was wondering if anybody knows how to fix this? I've see discussions about fuses but I don't know where to look, what to do, and what to buy. I'm not much of a car techie. Thanks.

I believe the fuses for the lights are under the hood in a black box in the upper passenger-side corner. Just pop them out one by one and see if the fuses are broken.

im 100% positive it is a fuse, the exact same thing happened to my friend and it ended up just being a fuse. i was not the one to fix it but i dont know which fuse holder he had to change the fuse. but it definately is a fuse. id check the box in the engine bay first like pyrojeff said.

I found the fuse box in the location you mentioned. How do I know which fuses are broken? And how do I pull them out without breaking them? Do I need a tool or just pluck them out with my hand?
The fuse box also has a labeled schematic drawing of the fuses but I'm not sure which label is for the dash lights and the tail lamp light. Oh by the way, is this the only fuse box or are there more on the car?
Thanks!

There is one more fuse box under the dash (next to drivers left foot)
In the right corner of that fuse box is a little plastic loop you can pull out, its a "fuse puller" this is what you can use to check the fuse, look for tail lamp fuse either under the dash or in the engine compartment

just pull out the fuse by the top.. there should be a little black fuse puller in the box.. if not its ok
use the chart on the cover to pull it out and find it.. look at it, youll see its blown if the middle connector is broken
should be one peice.. they break and that is what kilss the connection,
jsut replace it..

Re: 1994 Honda Accord LX with non-working dash and tail lamp lights (crafty)
Ok guys, here's the problem so far. Number 1, the dash lights are out so I can't see the dash gauges, etc. at night. Number 2, the little red, middle light that's between the bottom of the rear window is out. I think this is the "tail lamp light" that is showing up as red on the dash. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I know how to use the fuse puller now, but I don't know which fuse to look at and determine if it is busted....is it cracked, burnt, a different color, how can you tell?
So here are the fuse boxes with the list of fuses/components that are labeled....

Re: (secksiman19)
I didn't hear a thing. Both the old and the new fuse say 15A so I'm sure it's the same one. I also compared the two fuses and the connection in the middle are both in tact. Maybe I'm not looking at the correct problem area?

I know this sucks, but you just gotta recheck ALL the fuses. We aren't there so we don't know what the fuses look like and which ones you're looking at. Then make sure that the fuses are pushed in hard enough to make a good solid connection. If that doesn't work then maybe there's a short some where. Good luck.

Yes, I'm able to shift out of park. Where do I look to see if my 3rd brake light is out? My main brake lamps (left and right corner) seem fine.

Re: (pperea)
You have to take the bulb out and check it...
there are 2 plastic round caps on both sides....push the little circle in and they should pop right out.....then slide the cover off
i believe there are 2 screws accessible from the trunk that you have to remove and you'll have access to the bulb

I have the same problem.
I just noticed that my Tail Lamp doesnt work either.
It happened after i burnt my signal relay, now i fixed the relay and still doesnt work.
None of the fuses under the dash were burnt.

Re: (t0mmyb0y)
With any ten year old vehicle, when a light does not function - check the bulbs first, then the fuses. On our '88, Honda was kind enough to supply spares which were kept inside the access door.
Never simply replace a fuse, first find out why it blew in the first place !
One may need needle-nosed pliers if the plastic puller is missing and the fuse cannot be pulled by two fingers.
Also check the instrument panel dimmer circuit - there should be a little thumb wheel on the panel by the switches - or at least there was on an '88.
Good luck.

Re: (earthworm)
Problem solved... for me atleast. Turns out the recently installed cd player had a dimmer control option that was not hooked up properly, so when I hit the lights, it shorted, blowing the fuse.

Re: 1994 Honda Accord LX with non-working dash and tail lamp lights
I have this same issue with my 94 honda accord. I had a guy rewire everything in the car and weeks later same issue? As of recently I decided to look at myself. I test the fuses and found that the fuse is still blowing just the sec its replaced? I keep trying to replace EFI, ECU (INJ) with 15A fuse and it blows immediately.Help please
