Help! 1994 Accord clutch job! did i do something wrong?
Hey guys i have a 1994 honda accord lx. its pretty much stock.
I was changing my clutch this past weekend. everything seemed to go well. Now i just need to add the fluids. I never added the clutch dot III fluid yet.
anyways, the problem is, when i put the car in gear from the shift ****, the tires still rotate. is this normal? I put in the tranny fluid already and everything seems to be done except the clutch line fluid.
any ideas anyone? darn i thought my car would be running by now.. but im nervous to start it.

do you mean you put the car in gear and as you release the clutch the tires spin when its in the air? you should have a little wheel spin but not excessive. your clutch is hydraulic correct?

my clutch fluid isnt filled yet. i never started my engine yet after the replacement either. I just noticed something strange.
correct me if im wrong:
with a manual transmission, when you park your car and put it in gear, the tires shouldn't move because the transmission is holding the car in place. well, when i put it in gear via the shift **** in the driver's seat (i don't need the clutch because the engine is off) the wheels still move. My car is currently on jacks and i am can spin the tires. i'm pretty sure my axles are in good, the right one (passengerside) is a new axle by the way if that has to do with anything.

are you just turning one tire or both? cause if your just turning one up in the air because of the differential you will be able to spin one. but if you get a friend to hold the other one when you try to turn it it shouldnt move

thanks for catchin this good point. i agree with this. why did you drain the clutch fluid? true-you should replace it every 30,000 miles or so. but nobody regularly does. we just unbolt the slave cylinder from the trans usually
