14:1 SOHC???
Has any body done a build with a SOHC with this kind of compression??I go through motors a fat kid in a candy store.Well I blew my f22a hybrid in my 96 accord a couple weeks ago and I have a few spare motors to play with.I was wondering what kind of hp#s I could expect. My build will consist of f22B shot peened rods.F22A3 block,F22b2 P&P head. All I want to do is put the pistons in and go.Probably will get the head clearenced for the piston height. Will be using a stock cam and a h23 intake manifold. Will probably through in my 450cc injectors for good measure.Tuning will be done with ECTune.Im hoping on the low to mid 200whp range. Is there something else that I should look at getting???Keep in mind this is a just because I can motor. So has anybody done something like this that could give me some pointers. Thanks

some 117 octane and a wild cam and header from bisi come to mind... some ARP head studs and connecting rod studs would be a worthwile investment. at that compression ratio I'd probly look into a sidedraft carbeurator setup, or ITB's. You're definately going to need some port work done to the head to take advantage of that compression ratio. thats just nuts...

well being reasonable there is very small chance you can run that kind of setup every day on the street due to the high octane required for that setup. i mean dont get me wrong you can do whatever you want but that need for a high octane will set u back.
either that or a very conservative tune to TRY and avoid detonation. but pump gas WILL hold u back

to run this compression on pump gas it will require finding a midget (or dwarf if you will) willing to stay under the hood and manually pour the fuel in at wide open throttle @ low rpm. This could be a drawback, on the other hand hilarious... you decide.

Well I guess its a good thing this isnt my daily then.LOL.I hardly drive the car anymore except when I race it.I think this will be a fun build. All I need right now to put it together is the pistons.
