96 coupe w? obd2 H22a swap ?????
I cannot get this thing to read through the diagnostics and therefore will not pass emissions testing. I was wondering what I need to do in order to make this work, any and all suggestoins will be greatly appreciated, Thanks to all in advance.

it is a p28 ecu, I was just hoping to make this thing legal, so what would my options be, do I need to just rip this thing out and get an obd1 vehicle?

i would but....keep your motor...h stands for power....you kno...Honda...H22 Haccrord etc....well..and i think you can get a p75 or a p05 or a less sensor OBD1 "STOCK" ECU at a local junk yard and plug it up right before you go into the scanner....i not sure how your harness conversion is set but....try it....its worth a shot....

The problem is that an OBD2 scanner will not be able to read any OBD1 ECU, chipped or not. You need an OBD2 ECU to pass in an OBD2 car. You need to find yourself a 96 OBD2 P13 out of a Prelude, it's the only one without the immobilizer in it.

Re: 96 coupe w? obd2 H22a swap ?????
why are you using a P28? I would think just buying a P13 would solve the issue right there. also should notice an improvement on gas mileage and power just by having all the correct MAPs and what not.
P28 is not only OBD1, but is meant for a 1.6L SOHC. big jump there from 1.6L SOHC to 2.2L DOHC

It's probably a chipped P28. A stock one probably won't even allow the car to run.
