Because I brought it back. I just got Magnum P.I. Season 8 (final), and watched some of it last night. So here we are.

They should keep it set in the 80's I hate when they remake those shows and bring them up to date (Dukes, Miami Vice, etc..)

I made this reply in April, before I got the final season 8 on DVD. I just finish episode 6 last night.
Now to pat myself on the back..........
At the end of season 7, Magnum was shot. He has also killed the Vietnamese General, that was "married" to his wife. To start season 8, the Generals brother came to kill Magnum. Failed. On the 6 episode, the state want to put the Viet Gen's Brother away to jail. But the court rule Not guilty. So he killed Magnum's wife and daughter (the daughter was actually alive - but not known at this time).
Magnum had a chance to kill him again, but he left for Vietnam (due to a POW exchange).
My plot is perfect. Since is the Viet Gen's Brother is still alive, and Magnum is the one that took his loved one, he STILL need to kill his daughter. 20 years later, it's still NOT over.
I need to pitch this in Hollywood....
