Re: ** The offical 96-00 civic 4dr thread ** PART 3
I don't know about the Domani, but the EL had a remote trunk pop. The mechanism will not fit the Civic lid, I looked into it a couple of years ago when I was doing my alarm install.
96-98 vs 99-00 is just because of tail lights... If I put a Domani/EL lid on a 99-00 I'd have to give up the stock red/yellow lights, and I happen to be one of the few that really likes them. 96-98 I'd be willing to swap out for the EL trunk in a second though

I'm fairly certain that the Domani assembly was the same as my 99-00, because I took it off and matched it up; however, the Domani lid that i've got didn't have an actuator, but it might be worth looking into!!

EL definitely did, I'm not sure about the Domani.

I see what you mean. Looks like it would bolt in if there is room for the actuator, plus the wiring. but...it does look like it takes over for the key cylinder rod. Oh darn...another little part that I don't 100% need, but might want at some point in my life. There are certainly other things that need to come first.

Lol! Bolt that wing down! It looks great! You'll be super stoked with the down force, my car feels so much more stable in the rear and rotates much smoother.

Two minute project for later this evening. Gonna snag some amber 168 bulbs on the way home. Should clean up the side a bit, and help blend better with the all clear front and clear/red tails. It really is the little things that make me happy.

Jacob - The clear is where it's at amigo!!!
Adam - Wow! You were close! I didn't even see this blazing until I got to santa monica on sat. Friday I must have been oblivious, but Sat. morning I woke up to white speckles on the truck, asking myself wth is this? I just washed it! When I realized it was ash and saw no trials I wondered where it was coming from. The sun was red, and the skys were covered in those dark red clouds. what a sight.
While the sedan is down, I continue the prep on interior plastics. Definitely a more detailed process than I thought. Still enjoying the learning process.
I finally had my buddy send me a picture of the dyno graph. Using my old graph I did my best to show the comparison of my old ( transparent red & blue ) vs new setup ( dark red & blue ). Same engine, different chassis. Months apart. I wish I would have scanned the first one way back then.

In the meantime some more faux CF arrived. S|O to my dude Kumar of Touge Academy.

Yeah we're pretty safe where we're at, it's a few miles off to the southeast and it would have to be pretty catastrophic to make it over my way. Pretty nuts though.

The power of the wind, and a wild amber. Either way some heavy blazes so early in the summer.
I ended up giving my other EDM cluster to my buddy for his Bday, with a lil cash, but cheaper than he could ever buy one. Which leads to this update, installed the Faux trim into mine.

Acura EL had them, the canadian version. But the Domani in japan doesn't. That image I took was from a parts site specifically for jdm model cars.

Re: ** The offical 96-00 civic 4dr thread ** PART 3
So...thanks to the JDMness of the Domani, US plates don't fit without drilling...well...that's not gonna happen. Found out that ASR makes some cool adapters to run North American plates on JDM trunks, so I got that handled Friday. Today I was down south planning out a new rear strut brace / amp rack / chassis brace, along with removing the sunroof to get the cover out so that I can get the headliner and sunroof thingy-ma-bob recovered in a medium grey suede. It should look pretty good with the darker than normal grey roof accessories that come from the EK4 and EK9. I'll make sure to post pics when reassembling. Here is a couple of non action shots from today.
Also met up with Joel today, he's a pretty cool cat. We definitely need to plan out a gathering once the majority of us get things put back together.

A quick shot I took of Jacob's ride. The interior is so innovative, the sound system is really art. Driving off, I couldn't help but to admire your rear end, If Jizz didn't have it already I would have looked into it w/ the actuator setup. Very Different look for our cars.
Thank you kindly for the sweet deal on the upper console.
forgot this update from a few days ago $50 Crower springs and retainers for the day I build the 2L NON V setup.

Not so bad yourself Jacob! hehe Definitely dope to meet you and check out your ride. We definitely need a gathering. I see you wasted no time getting to that sunroof :thumb:

No problem man...glad you could use the part!! Thanks also for the kind words about the car. Give me another month and a couple more trips down to Fullerton and Cerritos, and the interior and audio package will be done. My remaining interior has already left Goleta on it's way to Camarillo and will be at work on Monday. Should be back down in Cerritos on Saturday to get the sunroof cover and headliner back in, then I'll pop in the upper plastics. It's gonna be a mission, but trying to get it all back together before the last weekend in August, for a car audio gathering and competition at American Honda Motor's print shop in Torrence.
