why not just use a smashing machine?

People started doing this thousands of years ago. They do use machines these days to do that work, however, its a time held tradition that some people who have very small winery's or people who make wine for their personal use still engage in.

My family used to. My step dad, his dad and I used to get grapes from california and used old school presses and contrainers to make it all.

The best was the Grappa we made. You could seriously run a car off that ****!

i saw somewhere a long time ago that theres a bacteria on your feet that aids in the fermentation process iirc
