Lets see how to explain this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan_Domestic_Market OMG Wikipedia does it again!

In my opinion JDM is a way to stay stock with factory fit. While trying to look aftermarket. Theres more to this, but I don't want to type more =P

JDM refers to parts/accessories that were released to the Japanese market

USDM refers likewise to parts/accessories released in the US market

I realize what you are saying, but it's not rice. It's just that everyone's doing it... JDM does not encase lambo d00rs and underglow. Just mostly factory parts, basically "converting" your car into the way it is in Japan in any way.

JDM gets out of hand when you pay 300-400 dollars for a tail light because it has a extra reflector or someshyt like that.

I agree, i paid about 400 for the black housing headlights, and I love those, however I have the stock tailights on my car, and I dont even have any want or need to get the clear rear bumper side marker. JDM is nice, but its what has the car looking clean but modified.

I disagree FAKE JDM is the new Rice.

Real JDM is the extremely rare vent visors for a coupe, the stanely stamped black housing headlights, the true mugen grille, the azect front lip, advan TC's, Advan SA3r's, powerfold mirrors, a CD6 flushmount spoiler, yellow fog lights, and or anything you wish you didnt have to spend the money on.

Non JDM includes things like altezza tails, $10 coilovers from ebay, projector headlights, M-style or R-type lips, your neighbors fart can with dual tips, anything stamped TENZO, curb feelers, e-ram superchargers, lol....i could go on forever

Ugh.. another JDM vs everything else debate.

Swapping overpriced JDM parts onto a USDM car is just another bandwagon.

Fake JDM? The only people that call that stuff JDM is eBay sellers. And I have no idea who would call curb feelers "JDM". That's an old school American thing right there...

In the end, it's all just another stupid fad. Everyone calls bodykits and altezzas rice now, but just a few years ago it was all the rave thing to do. Now, JDM is the rave thing to do, and guess what... a few years from now everyone's going to be calling it rice. Get over it.

It's funny how most people who are sooo into the JDM bandwagon just have to have the authentic JDM Stanley headlights or Mugen parts, when they could have spent 1/3 of the money on stuff that looks just the same and works just as well. It's the same people that associate "rice" with everything non-JDM.

If you haven't realized. Here in America we can't go fast. Most people would be considered Hard Parkers. Which means you have a track ready car and you never track it. IMO if you have anymore HP than necessary then GTFO!!!

huh? so are you saying, unless we track our cars regularily its pointless to modify our cars for more power and better performance? you know, not everyone is into show.

Sooo, based on your logic, anyone that owns a sports car but doesn't take it to the track is a "hard parker". (Another silly term, btw). Who determines how much power is "necessary"? How? I'm really trying to be unbiased here, but your argument is very, very weak.

JDM=teh hawtness.

Like or not, JDM is not rice. How can something that's honda factory and comes on the car the way Honda wanted it, be called rice? So Honda factory vehicles are what's rice to you all? H-T gets more ignorant by the second

It is definitely overpriced though. I've spent way too much on it over the years. Never more than $400 for one single part though

JDM will never be considered rice...yea body kits and altezzas were once popular but that **** is just stupid..I never liked it..JDM parts will never be that way..I will always love JDM stuff..I agree that its overpriced for the most part..I mean I have black housing headlights but they arent true JDM..I wasnt about to spend 600 dollars on a pair of headlights when I can get them off ebay for 150..but it actually is a nice touch to a persons car unlike chrome **** stuck on every inch of your car...some people went through that phase not everyone..just idiots that wanted to wast 80 bucks on a pair of altezzas on ebay that look horrible...I dont think people will ever get tired of JDM parts..its been around for years now and I dont see it going out anytime soon...most everyone not just a few people love JDM..unlike the ricer **** that used to be in style for some people..most people just sat around and laughed at someone driving by with altezzas, chrome corners, chrome bumper lights, and a body kit that was a different color than the car and didnt even fit it right, and an exhaust tip that sounds like a weedeater on full blast and left carbon stains on their bumper..but when You see a car pass by with JDM headlights, lowered with a nice set of wheels(not chrome 20's) and a nice full catback exhaust and a few other mods..you say man thats a nice car he must have put some money into that thing..JDM will never fade in my point of view
