Default What is up with the shark attacks lately???

Why have there been so many shark attacks lately?could it bee that there is not enough food down in the ocean for the sharks, so they have to come closer to shore??

Maybe the suntan lotion companies should stop using animal fat in their products.

LoL...maybe. It's much wiser to just stay off the beach for a while.

FREE TIP: Remember that when sharks attack, their eyes are closed. Use that to your advantage. A sharks weakest point is it's nose believe it or not. One blow would send him going opposite directions...or lunging forward with anger and removing valuable body parts.

There is a distinct possibility that when you don't allow the culling of a type a predator that they begin to overpopulate and since they are territorial look for new hunting grounds. A lot of people (ignorant environmentalists) are saying that the amount of people at the beach are causing it; oh yeah this is the FIRST year a bunch of people went to the beach.

How about this?

The water is dirty, so there is less fish for the seals to eat. Since there is less food, there are less seals. So the sharks have less seals to eat, so they turn to humans. But little do they know, humans don't have much meat, so they have to eat more humans to make it up

Shark attacks are actually down from last year. The perceived problem is being caused by the media. Shark attacks were once regional news items. This year, we started off with sensational coverage of a young boy being severly wounded and having his uncle come to his rescue. Great ratings from that. More attention is being focused on the "shark problem," so any and all attacks get national exposure, thus leading the public to believe that Jaws is after us, and is really, really pissed off.

Is there really any proof that the waters ALL ARROUND the us are dirtier than say ONE YEAR ago? Five? If this is the case then why would the sharks want to swim INTO the dirty water? Wouldn't there be more fish in the cleaner waters to eat? Have we successfully polluted the TRILLIONS of gallons of water all over the globe? If so that is some achievement. Someone should get the nobel prize for pollution for that! COULD it be even a PART of the problem that the U.S. doesn't allow even moderate hunting of these predators?

shark attack are actually down atshaccord. There is NO problem compared to last year. It's just that one guy actually beat a Shark to death while saving his kid. that got all ove the news, and when people saw the kind of run it got all of them are geting on the news now. It is making it seem like a huge problem when it isnt

If I was attacked by a shark I would punch him in the nose. If that didn't work, I would then poke him in the eye with my stump.

Good point. Sharks would want to be in "clean water" too where there would be more food supply.
