Default Are waterbeds good or bad for the back?

I have a waterbed that is currently in storage. I've heard they are bad for the back and then I hear they are good......

Can't find any info on google...

One less thing to move if they're bad for the back

I don't know if they are bad for the back. Do you ever sleep with anyone else?

I would think they would be a paid in the *** to sleep with other people, you would feel all the movements either one of you make.

This is a friend of Ben's. I heard that Waterbeds are bad for the back due to the fact that they provide no support for the spine. It forms to the way you sleep and if you sleep in the wrong way, then the waterbed will amplify the problem position that you may be in. Thanks Im not 100% sure, but I know a Physician and have heard a discussion on that subject.

Waterbeds are great.

It's all I've ever slept on.

Think of it this way; the waterbed forms to how your body NATURALLY wants to lay...not like the other guy said in which it amplifies sleeping in bad positions...your body will naturally rest how it is most relaxed and the waterbed accomodates it rather than forcing your body to adjust to the bed itself.

Well no, water flows, so itle flow AROUND your body, Lets say sleeping on your side, Witch seems as though the only position I can sleep in. It is best to sleep with your spine as straight as possible. I use a body pillow, to wrap my arms around and put between my legs, and I double up on my pillow for my head.

In a Water bed, Itle put it WAY WAY out of wack, Alowing my mid section to sink, and bow. just not a good position.

I got rid of my waterbed because it hurt my back. YMMV.

I had a water bed for a long time. Some times i would wake up with a soar back. I have a regular matress now. I have much less back pain now. Maybe i just didnt have enough water in the matress. I dont think they are to good for you but maybe now they have better ones.

Man, when I had my waterbed I loved it. Nothing like getting into a 90* bed on a cold winter night. Or any night for that matter. Sex was interesting, good for the lazy people. Hump her once, wait a sec until the wave comes back and auto-hump her again. Its like buy one get one free!

It depends on what kind of H2O bed. I had one that sucked, but my Aunt had one with a support on the top. It was great. My H2O bed messed up my back so I'm back on the regular mattress.

If you're a fat **** then you're fucked. It'd be hard to roll you over.

I passed out one time after having 1 shot of bacardi 151 and i was put on a waterbed. I felt great waking up.
