Default Scars splitting open

Have any of you had a scar just randomly split open?

I just had one split open the other day and it hurts like hell. It isn't a recent scar either. I have had this particular scar for about 20 years.

Anybody know anything I can do to help it heal up or how to keep it from happening again?

It is a scar on the tip of my left index finger. I cut my finger wide open when I was young with a knife leaving a line on the tip of my finger. It split open and has been bleeding on and off all day today. To top it off, it feels like I pretty much just tore it the hell open.

I don't have any pictures, sorry.

Not listening to my mom is how I got the cut on my finger.

I was like six and we had little snack bags of gummy bears. I wanted another pack but my mom said no. I snuck a pack anyways and couldn't get it open. I was not strong enough to tear the little baggie open. I grabbed the butcher knife and tried to cut the bag open. I slipped and got my finger instead.

Not only did I cut the crap out of my finger, but I got my butt whipped for not listening.

20 years later, I'm still regretting sneaking that darn pack of gummy bears.

I have a 1.5" scar on my shin from my skateboarding days that opens from time to time. Playing hard basketball always makes it bleed.

I went for a front nose grind on the funbox and slipped, the corner took out a slice of my shin. Didn't tell my dad because I was scurred and didn't have insurance

Usually a little dab of SG helps me heal deep cuts quickly.

Looking and poking at this scar I got on top of my hand (it was stitched up), the skin seems really really thin on the scar. And this thing is well healed as it's probably 4 years old now.

if that were the case then it would be like welding metal, and the skin on the edge tears

I wish my darn camera was working right now. This thing is ripped open right down the middle of the scar. It looks like the scar tissue is deep or something because the opening has extremely smooth walls and looks red, almost like a crimson. Looks like I am looking at a steak under the surface of my skin.

Razor blade, cut out all the weak crap on the inside and gunpowder it shut again.

Start with a clean slate. Do it right this time around.

Or keep it open and let it heal as a split finger tip. Learn how to "make it talk". You could pick up **** with your split finger. Like single pieces of spaghetti.

I am not going to cut myself and make things worse. I would superglue it shut and stitch it up with 2lb test fishing line soaked in alcohol along with a sterilized sewing needle. Oh wait, I just did that

This is probably how it got all jacked up the first time around.
You got a good 20 years out of it last time. This time it should be fine for about 10. If it does it again, cut it off.
