Default Recommend me a good snow car under $7,000

Any car that can handle really well going through mountain passes in the snow. I don't care what make or model. Just has to be under $7,000

Studded snow tires are less than $7k.

I have a buddy with a '96 FWD Subaru wagon that lives outside of Breckenridge, CO. Never gets stuck.

There may be better cars suited, but really all you need is the right tires.

Never seen that either. Sick lol.

Get a late 90's Outback... you'll never get stuck.

94 Jeep Cherokee.

I got mine for $500, and spent another $500 getting it running. Best. Winter. Car. Ever.

Last winter, I took it out 'hooning every time we had anything on the ground. The best was when it spent 8 hours raining, then dumped 6" of snow on top. I was doing 4wd donuts in a big hole full of 8" of muddy, snowy mess, and it never even pretended like it thought it was going to get stuck.

GC8 Impreza's are around 5-7k stock and do a great job while having fun. A little short in the wheelbase department for my girlfriend sometimes but I loved it.

I hope you aren't talking about a 95 jeep, those auto trannys(most common) are bullet proof(japanese) and nothing is wrong with the 5spds either. Just sold my auto 93 with 150+k and it shifted like new. Toyotas are nice but for what you would pay for a decent jeep, you get a 250+k beat to hell yota.

The car you have now with snow tires. Someone probably said it already, but I didn't read the thread. I had snow tires on my S2000 and it was better than any SUV or AWD car. People really underestimate the effectiveness of snow tires....since most people haven't actually used them.
