Default Night Driving Glasses

So, I have recently been doing a lot more driving at night, regularly making 6 hour drives at night. I remember years ago there was a thread on night time driving glasses. IIRC there were a bunch of people that thought they worked great. Looking online, however, seems like they actually impair vision?

http://www.laramyk.com/learn/night_driving.html

It also seems like "night driving glasses" are no different then say tinted shooting glasses. True?

So who ueses them? Do they actually help you see better and reduce glare? What is a decent brand/type?

That might just be your eyesight. I had trouble reading street signs at night and then I put on my friend's glasses and everything cleared up.

I've never worn a pair of these. Do the "fire lenses" not block much light out, or what?

My left eye is +1.25 and my right is +1.50 currently, but they are a lot worse than that now.

I rock Acuvue Oasys 2-week disposables, but the last few pair I have been wearing for 4 or 5 weeks before throwing away.

Just so you know:

I've been using the same presciption for probably 6 years now and I spend a helluva lot of time on my computer, which deteriorates eyesight.

i can see your doing better than i am. im also wearing the oasys lenses because i sit in front of a screen all day.

i throw my pairs out after about 4 weeks as soon as they start loosing strength.

no lie i went from +1.25 to +1.75 in a 2 year period which tells me that im not doing something right apart from going to sleep at night with my lenses still on every so often because i forget that i even have them on.

They were a weak prescription. I ended up just buying glasses to have around if not seeing stuff started to annoy me. They're very helpful in class when I sit in the back. Everything on the board looks a little blurry.

I used to wear Eagle Eyes polarized yellow tinted glasses when driving at night sometimes.

My eyes are pretty sensative to light though, I just liked it cause it dimmed on coming car's headlights a little.

I now have perscription lightly tinted eye glasses I wear 24/7. They're light rose on the bottom and transition to a light brown at the top.

I might have a picture.

Here's a pic, I wear that driving at night all the time but I wear them all the time so I'm used to them.

I actually found a pair of these in a car I bought recently (the yellow ones, not the ones Stockton pictured). Tried them out, and holy ****, they actually made a significant difference! I could still see most of the same stuff as without glasses, but all the glare from headlights/streetlights/storefronts/etc. was cut down to nothing. Unfortunately, it also made everything kind of yellowish (duh), which got a little annoying after awhile.
