Default Does Gasoline Damage paint?

I know gas is a very good disolver/cleaner.

Will it damage paint if i use it to remove the bug and tar that accumulates onto the front(or anywhere) of the car without damaging the clear coat?

Yes, gasoline will eat away at the clear coating.

If you have bugs on the front of your bumper, use this. I use it all the time and it works 100% perfectly too. Just wash the bumper afterwards so you don't have a haze over it.

Plus it's cheaper than gas

I've used lighter fluid on small areas of paint to removing badging and hard to get off glue.

After that I cleaned, clay barred and waxed.

You can't tell there was ever badging there.

WD-40 works great on tar.
