Default do you think i can take a car stereo through airport security?

i know its a stupid question, but i am planning on flying back to texas soon (from FL) and i want to give my head unit to someone. id like to take it with me in my carry on stuff.

do you think they'll freak out and think its a tactical nucyooler weapon, or will they scan it and then let me go on about my business?

at most they'll look inside your bag. I've flown with stuff that looks MUCH worse than that.

As long as you don't have a red cable and a black cable from it connected to a battery and dont act shady you should be fine

hahahaha. you wouldnt want it dave. it's a piece of ****.

it's for lindsey. her head unit was stolen for the fifth time in 3 years.

and they were ALL piece of **** head units. this time is going to be a little different. im going to get a box of razor blades, dremel a hole through each of them, stick a zip tie through the hole forming an emo necklace of sorts, and then wrap that bitch around the wiring harness sharp side sticking out. so the next time some crackhead reaches in and yanks on wiring harness i get to start a finger collection. lol.

i'd pay the money to ship it, and avoid the potential hassle.

most electronics they want you to turn on. you won't be able to turn it on, you'll have to explain yourself- which may or may not go over well.

I work for the TSA

Car stereo in your carry on is not a big deal. At most they will call a bag check and take a peek at it. If you want to avoid that hassle take it out of your bag and put it through the X-ray in a bin by itself. Hope that helps.

If they ask you about it or anything of the sort, just take off running, then when they shoot you and/or tackle you, sue the living **** out of them... After they ask you why you ran, say "When you guys mentioned it, I remembered I left my adapter harness in my ride's car."

Yea you will be fine.. If you really want to make 100% sure check the TSA website. I am pretty sure they have a number you could call to find out.

You could always put it in your check bag and just pack it really good, they for sure wont say anything there. I take some high dollar test equipment (scopes and meters) with me when I travel with work and have never been hassled, even in Japan through customs.

Oh and just to be safe I would buy the razor blades and fish hooks once you got here

Just put it in a lead box and handcuff it to your wrist. Everything will be fine.
