I will be competing in the 62mm true street class. I'd like some suggestions on what turbo to use. I have a t3 flanged manifold so I need to stay with a t3 framed turbo.The car is setup to handle about 850whp, so the turbo will be the limiting factor.


I forgot to mention my setup.
Ported PR3 head
Skunk2 PRO 1 cams
Supertech valve springs titanium retainers
B18c block sleeved by RS machine
84mm 10:1 CR JE pistons
87mm OE crank
Victor X IM
70mm TB
Quality ramhorm Manifold T3
3" DP

Money, within reason, is not an issue.

I had a few suggestions like:

PTE6262
PTE6266
BEP s362

Any constructive comments or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

I like Mac's Reaper turbo with upgraded turbine wheel. It may not see the HP your car is setup for but it is a really nice piece and will be reliable. If not that then a 6266 or even a 6466 would be a great choice from Precision.

x2 on the reaper turbo from TheShodan, I love mine and its priced reasonably. The turbo should be capable of 700whp if I recall correctly.

Reaper isn't being produced till later this year from what Mac has said its undergoing some changes. Not sure about a release date.

His post didn't make any sense to me because True Street class drag racing has a maximum turbo size of 67mm. If he is referring to another TS class I am unaware of please disregard my comment.

From my understanding there are different weight classes for turbo sizes. 62.9mm is min of 2200lbs.

I can't remember the weight class for a 67mm, I know a typical civic would have to run ballast IIRC... been awhile since I looked at drag racing lol

I was under the impression this is the specific reason the batmowheel was designed, class racing.

the hta3586 was the highest hp t3 turbo for awhile untill the bigger 67mm started to pop up i would go with that or a precision 6265 or 6262 both have been know to make 800hp dyno jet on setups with the proper supporting mods
