wastegate open at idle
hey guys, i have a 44mm tial on a fullrace manifold. i have a screamer pipe. there is exhaust gas coming out at idle, i took the wastegate off, the" piston " inside the tial, the diameter is smaller than the casting hole in the main body of the tial wastedgate, so gases are just floing past it,
or is it just me and they come like this?

I think you weld the firing ring and made your dumptube. Either way it sounds like you need a firing ring.

i dont think so, cause if the firing ring was the same size as the v band flange, the thing would never mount up? true? it seems the firing ring fits inside the main body, sort gets pressed in right? i can see there is a slight recess on the main body

The fire ring goes inbetween your wastegate and your manifold/wasegate flange.Acts as a valve seat if im not mistaken. Theyre usually not pressed in but they just sit in there and can fall out easily when the wastegate is not installed.
