Default Ryguy's New Turbo Build W/ Pics!

Hey Guys,

I’ve helped people build motors, but I’ve never had a boosted motor before, if you can believe that. So here is my build that I’ve been putting together for the last year. If you have any suggestions or comments, I would like to hear them, but I don’t want to get slammed here. I’m a poor college student who is trying to have a little fun lol. I will be posting and updating with pictures and new items as I receive them. She will hopefully be tuned and put on the dyno for numbers when it gets warmer out here, and everything should be put together in the next month! I don’t want anything more than 350-375 whp initially, and it’s going to be my daily driver.

Here are some of my picture from the stuff I have for my turbo setup. Idk how to write the description in words above each picture, but I'm sure the pictures are pretty self explanatory.

I'll get some pics of the head and block once I have some time. School and work take up too much of my time!

I literally just got these as I was finishing up the last post. I want to give a big thanks to Innes on here. He hit me up about these cams, and these are absolutely flawless '00 ITR cams.

Thanks. It's taken me awhile to get almost everything together. Craigslist and the marketplace on here have become my best friends to find parts. Taxes gave me a nice amount to spend to finish it up.

Ya I can't wait to get everything together. I think I'm gonna end up loving it. Never had a boosted car before so it should be fun.

That sure is a goofy looking compressor cover for 3082. Can you post pictures of the CHRA itself?

Haha you guys have any suggestions? I have friends that use a stock fuel rail. Do I need an aftermarket one or will I be just fine with a stock one?

You'll be fine with the stock one for your power goals of 350-375whp but like everyone else (including me) once you turbo your car you want to turn up the boost and make it faster, so it deff won't hurt to get an aftermarket one if you can afford it right now.

Or save that upgrade for a later date when/if you want to make more power.

Ok thanks. What do you think the max hp would be on a stock fuel rail with a regulator?

I pieced everything together. I spent a lot of time on craigslist looking for parts. There were only a few things that are actually new cuz I found awesome deals through friends and on here.

I know I haven't updated this, but it was because it didn't look like anyone was interested. After some work and assembling this is the motor. Still have a couple small things to attend to, but it should be running in about a week! I also spent about an hour and a half sanding and polishing the compressor housing. Looks a bit better.

I also picked up this blown 57 trim garrett turbo for a good price and rebuilding it. Took it apart and cleaned it. The guy I bought it from on here said that the wheels were in good shape, but when I looked at the turbine, the blades were literally torn to shreds, so now i'm just waiting for the turbine wheel I ordered. Douchebag.

Good looking start and I hate people who don't know what they're selling... I got ripped on a couple turbos over the years.
