Piston/Rod question
I just bought a set of Wiseco Pistons that I am being told are press fit (2404A 6649M84) . I know the difference between floating and pressed pistons, press needs to be pressed in and floating you do by hand with lock rings on either side of the wrist pin. My question is about the rods. Can they be attached to the same rods? Like if I buy a set of Eagle rods would either a floating or press fit work on the same rod or is it a different part number for a press fit set of rods and floating set of rods?

Re: Piston/Rod question
Normally, the pin bushing is dimensionally different on a press fit and free floating rod. It is usually only a few thousandths difference. I am not sure about the Eagle products, but the Crower and BC products do have distinctly different part numbers for each type of rod.

That rod is a special long rod designed to be used in a Dart tall deck (226mm deck height) block. Is that what you are using in this application ??? It is a bushed pin fit which means that there must be locks in the piston itself to keep the pin in place... it is NOT a press-fit application.

Looking up the Wiseco part number that you referenced... it appears to be a floating pin design. The description from their website says your part number includes pins and clips.

Re: Piston/Rod question
I have not bought any rods yet I was just throwing that out there and it would be going in a sleeved B18B stock block. Here are some pics, in my head these are floating and not pressed but I am double checking here to make sure ( do not have much experience with bottom end components). I asked the guy and he said they were pressed and now I am second guessing even though I do not agree with him.
