Default oil light on (already searched)

short story, went to leave this morning, oil light stayed on after starting, i turned off the car, checked oil level, level was above the top notch barely. so theres oil.

car has only had the turbo on for about 170 miles now, hasnt seen boost but once. theres a leak around the oil pan, it doesnt leak much, i check it every time and add oil if its needed. i will try unpluggin wire from the sensor to see if its a short
my questions,
would a leaky gasket around the oil pan cause low oil pressure?
would a leaky gasket around the oil pan cause my oil pump to die, or go bad?

im going to buy a oil pressure gauge now, whats oil pressure at idle suppose to be at? is it safe to have 2 t's coming out of the block? and with the two tee's, should i put the oil pressure line on the first tee and then turbo feed on the second tee with the oil sensor at the end? i read that i can just take out the sensor and put the oil pressure on the end there? any recommendations?

2000 gsr, engine only has 25k miles on it, turbo's only been on for 170 miles, no hard driving, only seen boost once, oil pan gasket does leak. if any other info needed just let me know.
Thanks for the feedback

Leaky gasket: No. oil pressure doesn't care.
Leaky gasket fail pump. No. not unless alot of gunk got into the crank.

2 tees out of the block is bad. Real bad. They will vibrate alot and then snap off. Replace with some flexible hose and mount the tees rigidly. You can put the sensor and feed lines in any port available.

I would never have those tees sitting hanging off the block. I can never recommend it.

Get a autometer oil pressure gauge and call up summit racing and get one of the extender hose kits.

how old is the oil pump? and have you checked your oil pickup lately? the pump could have lost its prime or the pickup tube screen could be clogged.

whatever you do, dont drive it untill you fix the problem. a select few other people have done this... and we all know what happens....

Default .

cars been sitting since it happened, going to go get an oil pressure gauge tomorrow and just take out the stock sender unit. for all of you that have a gauge, whats the idle pressure suppose to be, and in my manual i read that its 50@3000rpms. If anyone can help me out with some oil pressure readings and at what rpms. Oil pump is as old as the car, which is a 2000 with 25k miles on it.
Another question, are electronic pressure gauges as reliable as mechanical?
thanks for the help
