do not use gear oil. you will destroy the transmission......

use regular 10w-30 motor oil. non synthetic....

I was told by my tuner to stick with Honda MTF. I would like to find a supplier of Honda MTF II in the states. But I'm considering trying out Amsoil.

Gear oil is for differentials and is usually a lot more viscous than Honda MTF or 10w30 motor oil which are used in Honda trannies.

Ditto with GM syncromesh. (they do somethings well) Noticable difference in shifting on mine.

ONLY use OEM honda gear oil. from personal experience I had a hydo ls tranny that grinded the tippy top of third and tryed to fix the problem with REDLINE gear oil and after that the tranny grinded from 2000rpms up. my buddy has also had a problem running aftermarket tranny oil on his typeR tranny and those my friend are not a dime a dozen like Ls and GSR's
