Default Oil in intake inlet of turbo. My turbo seals screwed?

Yesterday i took my intake filter and pipe off my turbo(t3/t4) and there was oil in the air inlet of the turbo. In by the fins, the oil was really black from being wipped by the fins. Where did it come from? Turbo isnt even a year old. I have an oil catch tank. One of the lines is tapped into the intake pipe. Could this be depositing there from the catch can?

only one way to find out, disconnect the catch can, and clean that pipe out. see if it is still putting oil in that pipe.

How much oil you talking about?

try this.. get a friend. Have him free rev the car while its standing still in neutral. You stand behind. If it smokes grey/bluish as the motor is revving down back to idle then its da turbo seals.

Is it possible that oil particles are being carried airborne and just depositing there. Here is a pic of how the catch tank is hooked up. Notice the hose by the filter. Suction by the intake would draw air from the catch tank.

look like high pressure hose from the hardware store held on by a ghetto exhaust clamp (no offense)

That oil catch can is not hooked up right at all. Should go from PCV valve to intake manifold. Its not doing anything the way its hooked up now.

i was saying that the clamp was ghetto. he should use a normal clamp. not an exhaust pipe clamp.

How's your drain line, I haven't had it happen personally, but I've heard that if you've got a low entry point into the oil pan it'll cause oil to back up and blow out the seals.

my return line got pinched and was pushing oil out the seals, but that is all fixed now. just breaking in the built h23 turbo as we speak

Thats how it says to hook it up on the back of the box. And the pics i saw of the greddy civic on back of import tuner was the same way. The PCV valve on mine doesnt go into the vavle cover. Its on the intanke manifold.
